Let me share a few thoughts with you as the 'new' Senior Pastor of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.  I've never been one to be impressed with titles or wanting to impress someone with a title for myself or my position.  It seems like when titles are important to some people, the 'real' person with their spiritual gifts and talents God has given them gets lost the in formalism of trying to impress other people.  Jesus didn't try to impress, did He?  That's what made Him so personal.  Jesus was interested in the person, not the position or pestiage of a title.  Can you imagine the Son of God just wanting to blend in...?  But, that's why Jesus came.  That's His message to mankind.  Put away the phoney and fake, just let Me be real to you as your own personal Lord and Savior... and as you get to know Me more personally.

At Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, you'll find, like we have, people who want to be themselves by breaking down the walls that divide.  Since Bonnie and I came to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in December 2010, we have been impressed with the friendliness of the people.  The people attending our new church home geninuinely care about their friends and neighbors in the Hartsburg / Ashland area and all along the Highway 63 growth corridor.  One of the things that has impressed us the most is that the "holier than thou folks" are non-existant.  At least we haven't found any.  For those of you who may be reading this web-site for the first time and are looking for a church home, you are invited to come and worship with us.  Give us a chance to get to know you and your family.  Don't just show-up once or twice and jump to conclusions.  Come and spend some time with us so we can share the love of Christ with you.  You won't be disappointed.  Check out our web-site, the activities, the photographs, our TeamKIDs, the SHOP for youth, join us in Sunday Morning Bible Study.  Mount Pleasant and her people will love you and will welcome you into our church family.  We are a growing church and would like to grow with you.  Come and grow together with us as we seek to grow deeper in the knowledge of God's will for our lives.  You'll be glad you did.  Bonnie and I are having a ball serving together as just another pastor/shepard team.  No hype.  We are simply sinners saved by God's grace.  You are welcome to join us.  Put away the tiltes...  Just be yourself...  Allow us to love you in the love of Jesus Christ!  See ya soon...

Amazed at God's Grace, Pastor Lyn.

Singing Salutations;

It is my blessing and privilege to direct the music for those who attend Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.  I became a member of this great church in 1982 and began serving as the music director in 1987.  Our worship team, consisting of the adult choir, ladies praise team, praise band, and sound technicians, serve together to provide an environment that is Jesus-focused.    I am often asked if we have contemporary worship, traditional worship, or blended worship. This implies that it's about the music.   All types of music provide an integral part of every worship service.  We are not out to impress, but to inspire.   Music prepares our hearts and minds as we battle distractions to hear God's word from His messenger.  In 2 Chronicles 20, the choir led the army into battle.  It wasn't until the choir began to sing that God sent His glory and acted on behalf of His people.   At the dedication of the temple, the glory of the Lord filled the temple as the singing voices could be heard above 120 trumpets!   God's message in our services always exalts the name of Jesus with voice and instrumentation.  Come join us!

Youth Leaders

Hello everyone! Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves! Wellllll....Nichol is from Black Diamond, Washington and...I, Brad, actually grew up in the Ashland/ Hartsburg area and attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church as a Youth! We are proud parents of a young lady named Cadence (8) and a little fella name Bowen (2).  Nichol and I met in the state of Texas.  We are both Active Duty Army Veterans who were stationed in Fort Hood. We got married on March 3, 2008, just eight days before I deployed for my second tour to Iraq.  Nichol moved back here to Missouri and began to attend Mt. P!  After a "short" 15 month trip to Baghdad and back (and a total of five years of service) I came home as fast as I could! Upon my return back home, Nichol and I began to attend Mt. Pleasant together, while  finally getting reintegrated into the real world as a normal couple.  We have seen some really big ups and downs in such a short time together and it is COMPLETELY evident to us both that The Lord has been with us through it all.  For some time, following our attendance at Mt. Pleasant, Nichol and I felt led to step it up a bit in our walk with Christ and step out in faith on available positions in the church.  It started with Nichol directing Vacation Bible School and teaching 5th and 6th grade TeamKID for two years and then eventually to us both leading seperate Sunday Morning Bible Study classes made available to youth boys and girls.  We became the Mt. P Youth Leaders Dec. 1, 2012.  A scripture that spoke to us both before making the decision to become Youth Leaders comes from John 15:5 - "I am the vine, you are the branches.  If a man remains in me, and I in them, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing."   cheeky

Come join us for Youth Group at the S.H.O.P every Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:30pm or for Sunday Morning Bible Study every Sunday morning from 9:30am-10:15am (directly followed by Sunday Morning Worship Service which includes great music and a meaningful message!)
